Auto Painting & Refinishing in Stratford, ON
Auto painting and refinishing is about more than applying color. It's the preparation, the color match, the application, and the final finish all working together. Back Corner Studios handles collision-related paint work and cosmetic refinishing at our Stratford shop.
What Refinishing Involves
Refinishing a vehicle means restoring its painted surface — whether that's a single repaired panel or a larger area. The process includes surface preparation, color matching, paint application, and the clearcoat and finishing work that protect the color and give it the right gloss and texture.
OEM-Level Refinishing
We aim for OEM-level refinishing quality. That means matching not just the color but the texture, gloss, and overall appearance of the surrounding finish so the repaired area doesn't stand out. When OEM parts are involved, we follow the appropriate OEM repair procedures as part of that process.
Color Matching
Color matching is one of the harder parts of refinishing. Vehicle paint fades and shifts over time, so a factory code alone isn't always enough. We match to the actual finish on your vehicle and blend adjacent panels when needed so the transition is invisible.
Color Blending
For larger repairs, we blend the refinished area into the adjacent panels so the transition is seamless. The goal is a finish that reads as one continuous surface, whether the repair is a single panel or a larger section of the vehicle.
Our Approach
We take refinishing seriously because the finish is what most people notice first. Our team focuses on careful preparation and application so the repaired area holds up over time and matches the rest of the vehicle. Every vehicle and repair is different, and we approach each one based on what it needs.
