Josh Dobson, Founder

Working in collision repair for over 25 years, Josh worked in various areas of the industry, from preparation and painting in a family owned business to mentoring young painters by teaching industry best practices in a larger corporate setting.

Josh had always dreamed of getting into motorcycle and hot-rod custom art, and in 2019 he began experimenting with the artistic side of automotive paint and design. He fashioned a makeshift paint booth: a simple air vent system and sheet of plastic that hung floor to ceiling in the back corner of the garage. He started gaining traction in the community of Stratford, painting bicycle frames and motorcycle helmets. He taught himself to pinstripe and later that year entered the HoodMaster 2021 Painting Competition, winning 2nd place.

In 2022, Back Corner Studios opened its doors. The 3000 square foot space holds a semi downdraft booth and professional in-house Sherwin Williams Paint Mixing System. The Studio offers everything from small spot repair and colour match to full body-off restorations. Additionally, Josh offers custom paint classes for those who want to try something new or grow their skills.

Josh has been featured in Sata Magazine and BodyWorx Magazine Collision Repair Magazine and you can find him at the MotoRama Custom Cars & Motorsports Expo this March and at the Motorcycle Super Show in January at the International Centre in Toronto.
